Emerald City ComiCon is coming up March 13 & 14. It is held at the Washington State Convention Center in beautiful Seattle, Washington. ECCC is the Northwest’s premiere Comic Book and Pop Culture conventions and we are gonna be there, exhibiting.

TNP Press will be at booth 1006 and will be represented by, Denis Caron of Anhedonia Blue and L.A.W.L.S., Ali Showkati of Spaghetti Strap Western, and Paul Westover and Ben Carter of Woody After Hours. We’re also gonna be sharing our table with Cari Corene of Toilet Genie.

The startup comics for Starboard Comics are Denis “Joenis” Caron’s Anhedonia Blue, Scott Ferguson’s Motokool and, Ali Showkati’s Spaghetti Strap Western. As you may have noticed Anhedonia Blue and SSW were originally part of TNP Press. Over the past few months we began to realize that these novels could be better suited on a dedicated website. Well, the opportunity finally presented itself and here we are. We have officially decided to dedicate TNP Press to daily humor strips and publications, and make a new home for our graphic novels.

n addition to a great new site, we decided to start a podcast. There aren’t very many podcast out their dedicated to webcomics, so we decided to remedy that situation. Our podcast is called Starboard Webcomics Podcast, and you can listen to it via our homepage or by subscribing through iTunes. You can expect us to post a new episode every other Wednesday. We’ll be discussing everything from other webcomics, to our own personal techniques and tips. Should be a blast, so be sure to subscribe.

The time is coming soon, less then two weeks to be exact. TNP Press will be at APE Alternative Press Expo, keeping it real. So please come by our booth and talk with us and we’ll be signing some stuff (preferably our own merch, but hey, we’ll sign whatever you got). Here’s a map to for our booth:

First off, a namechange. After much delibiration I have decided on a more permanent name and its own url: Beardfluff. It’s lighthearted and silly, which reminds me not to take myself too seriously.
Second, there’s a new design. After fooling around with ComicPress for some time, I decided to take Inkblot + Webcomic for a spin.
So, be sure to take a look around the new site and leave a comment!

That’s right, we will be representing at APE (Alternative Press Expo) 2009! If you are in the area you should come buy and visit us, give us some lovin’. The comics which will be represented are Unconscious Ink [ui], SSWestern and My Cardboard Life and we will be located at booths number 275 and 276A. Each artist will have respective pieces of art, comics, plushies, etc to sell and will all be signing anything you are willing to purchase in this harsh economic climate! We’d love to see you and love to chat, so we hope to see ya there on October 17-18; The tickets are 10 bucks a day or 15 for both.

Although partner in crime, Joenis and I, feel like it was a bit of a rip-off, at $65, I feel the glass was definitely half full yesterday. What we didn’t make in sales, we made up in Networking and advertising. We actually did meet a fair amount of people who were interested in TNP Press. And a few people who seemed to like the concept of SSW. We managed to unload a good amount of Flyers and buttons. Overall, I think Edge of LA just wasn’t for us. We just didn’t have to right crowd.

In liue of the turnout, there won’t be a TNP Press LIVE video update as originally planned. Not to fret tho, SDCC is just around the corner, with lots of video opportunities there. See ya at SDCC!
